What Happened Here...

Actually, I still have no clue.. Everything was going real smooth, and then *poof* nothing at all. Apparently the account /avrillavigne was deleted, but all the files were still on the ftp.. the only thing I couldn't get is the database for the forums, so I had to restart those from scratch.

The reason for the deletion is still a mystery to me.. I know the host encountered some internal server errors the night before, so it may have been an accident.. or it could have been because of our remotely hosted multimedia section.. so until i can clear this up, I don't want to take any chances and put everything back up right now.

We're working on getting better hosting.. and maybe even a domain name so that this won't happen again... I'd announce the names we were considering, but that's top secret =O

So I still don't know why its been deleted.. anyways, i guess oLiE's got it resolved now with redirection, and for the forums, i'll try to backup the database more frequently so that we won't have to start from scratch again.

neways.. the plot thickens.. today, out of the blue, I got an (automatic) email from lycos telling me my user name and password.. so now i can log into my account.. (joy! well not really =P) ..but nothing more, the site is still 'blocked' by who knows what, and who knows why.. and apparently i'm not the only one this happened to, their help forums are packed with people like me who first lost their sites, then partially got it back..

I hope they unlock the front page soon, I was hoping they'd have my MySQL database, but that seems to have been deleted.. so the old forums are history, and so are the news we had on the site, but thats ok.. we'll rebuild =)

yes indeed.. shame on me for doing " BLANK! " ;) I'll blank 'em something alright.. :P
