Signature Image Limit

I truly think there should be a limit on the number of images one can have in their signature... Also, I think there should be a limit on size and dimensions of the image(s) in the signature. I would imagine it would be hell to load this forum on a 56k modem. It would take forever and day (and quite possibly another). I'm amazed at the fact that this hasn't already been enstated. It takes me fair amount of time to load the pages, and I'm on a cable modem. At three in the morning... (When no one else is on so it should be going fast anyway) Seriously. Jerks.

Dearie, there is a button that says "Kill This Signature" below every post. So if you don't like a sig...press it. Believe me, it's a lifesaver.

yeah you can have longs sigs if you want, just dont expect everyone to be seein 'em lol a lot of ppl kill the long sigs, and i think it sucks cuz i love looking at sigs, but some are just too much.. some ppl use friggin wallpapers as sigs o_O;;

and yes i know mah sig is long lol but not as long as some other ppl's out there *shakes head* nuts i tell ya :P

there are VERY few sigs that i haven't killled...i didn't really mind them for a while, but then they just got WAY out of hand, so i started killing, and once you start killing sigs its hard to stop...

Okay. That's just blatantly wrong. This forum and Drew have stressed over and over again that posting is a privilege and not a right, and thus the fact that people are even allowed to have signatures is a gift.

Furthermore, all those with long sigs I find ignorant, not to be mean. If your sig is long, people are going to kill it, which means they won't see it, which defeats the whole purpose of a signature in the first place.

That is true. And if there was a limit 1 picture per signature, then there would be no need for the killing option.

What i don't understand is that if long sigs are meant to express individuality, why are there so many long sigs containing banners that weren't made by the user posting them (ie. sigs from twobeats.com)

That's true, Crestfallen. I use a sig from twobeats.com on another forum, but I think I am going to remove it from my sig. Well, anyway, I think on an Avril forum where we know everyone likes Avril, those images are a little pointless, especially if they weren't made by the person. Here, the fact that we like Avril is expressed by our presence.

well some people can't make good blends themselves so they borrow them from twobeats.com or they ask someone to make one for them. I think you still express your individuality by chosing the blend and of course by the words and song lyrics you put in your sigantures. that's what I'm thinking anyway.

When I want to show what lyrics I like, I just put the words in my signature, not an image. If you have one of those (images that aren't yours) in your signature, it's not so bad. But I have killed most of the signatures of the regular forum members here. If you have more than two images in your signature, there is an 80% chance that I am not seeing it ever again. :P

i havent read any of the recent posts, but i have to say, this guy did have a point over the 56k modem thing!!

sometimes its utterly impossible to get on here, nothing works, screens freeze cos of lag therefore u click the send thing again and low and behold, u have posted the same thing 2-3times!! What can be done about this site lagging, im sure Leila is fed up with me venting my frustration :)

I know. If there are any signatures I haven't killed, I usually never see them anyway. I have a 56k modem, and I usually just stop loading the page after all the text is loaded. If there are emoticons, I just hold my mouse over them to see which ones they are. If there are specific images I want to see, I load them individually.
