I found this on another message board. How true it is, I can't be sure. But here it is anyway. Has anyone else heard about this?

Avril Lavigne is currently working on a song for the soundtrack "Lilo and Stitch 2". Following the success of the first movie, Disney wanted to snap up the young singer to do the soundtrack since hearing Nickelodeon nabbed her for a concert special. "She's a young fresh face with a lot of talent," Bob Newman, Disney executive, says about Avril Lavigne. "We definitely think she can do something for this soundtrack. We hope to have Stitch do a little skateboarding in the movie while her song plays in the background."
"The song is going to be called True To Yourself. I wrote it shortly after I got my record deal with Arista, but I really wanted this on my album. They didn't want it, so like, I was like, fine. I'm glad it's going to be on the soundtrack. It's like Complicated part two." Avril Lavigne says. The young seventeen-year-old burst out of practically nowhere and soared to the top of Billboard charts. It's no wonder Disney wanted her to do the soundtrack.
"I'm all about the kids. Yeah, my music is for the older people, but I think kids can relate to this song at some levels. That's how my music is. It touches people. You know?"
Yes, Avril. We know.

That article was from variety magazine issue #526 july 22 2002.

That's not selling out. It's making more money. It's being smart.

true, but what im SAYING is that i hope that i dont see her songs in like, 10 commercials or something... being on a soundtrack is no problem because its all music, i love avril and i dont think she will ever sell out, but i just dont want to hear Losing Grip in a car tire commercial or something... i dont like famous bands with songs in like a ton of commercials, cause then the songs lose meaning... you know what im saying?
