I'll have to wait a few days to see it since I work. I'm always interested in what they cut out from the books 'cuz, obvoiusly, there is no way they can include everything. I know that Sarumon isn't in it at all..

It was so exciting! The dramatic parts weren't as held out. Way better than the books, although I wish they could have found a way around all the damn cuts.

See that remark would of really hurt me but see I did read the books, but what I was trying to say "IN THE MOVIE" Frodo gets his finger bit off but when you see him standing at the end it clearly grew back. Go back to not shaving your legs and practicing french kissing with your father.

^ geez man!! lol. at what part did his finger grow back?? when he was writing in the Red Book is was still the nubbin finger. i thought the ending was great!! i was crying my eyes out at the havens.

12-22-2003, 10:10 PM
Yeah, Snagg3r? Then why didn't the end make sense? And for your information, I DON'T shave my legs, and my dad is dead, so you can go back to hell.

anyways .. what the hell is with the ending it just went on and on .. BORING!. But the movie was good very good I think I liked it more out of all 3.

Yes, Tolkien sucks at endings. But it was more boring in the book because it takes longer to read than to watch. :D

It makes it worse when you are absolutely dying for a pee and the screen goes black..and you pray that's the end so you can go to the toliet..but no..another bloody scene comes up! Damn you long endings!!

The ending is much worse in the book. It's the same thing, only much longer.

in the book isn't the shire all... overrun by bad things or something stupid like that?
i saw the movie tonight. i was all, "akshdoihetoiheiorr LET IT END!"
although nothing was as great as:
my sister: "they need the invisibility cloak they had in the first one!"
me: "they never had an invisibility cloak, that was the ring. invisibility cloak is from harry potter."
my sister: "...oh."

well i thought it was excellent!
but... i'm never watching it again. way too long
InspireMe
12-28-2003, 12:57 AM
LMAO!! Yeah, but you're wrong, Punky. Or at least your sister was almost right. There is an Elven cloak that makes them camouflage. In The Two Towers, when Sam slides down the mountain and gets stuck, Frodo follows him and throws the cloak around them so they look like a rock on the mountainside.
And yeah, the men take the Shire in the books.

i have no memory at all for movies. even like a week later i won't be able to tell you what happened.

I liked it even though a lot of stuff was changed ... but it would've been way too long if everything was added in, of course. Nothing like a little numb bum.

the ending in the book was not boring at all. i admit the movie ending stretched on for a while, but that was the filmakers not Tolkien.

I thought they definately saved the best til last! I really enjoyed it, although for a bit of the time, i didn't really know what was going on! Haha.
But, yeah, "Nothing like a numb bum" indeed Shannon!

i've seen it 3 times now. going again probably this weekend. :)
I'm seeing it for the 2nd time at the weekend. I thought it was amazing, although I agree about the ending. I kept thinking that that would be a good place to finish it, then there was another scene etc. But I only cared so much because my rear end had pins and needles and was becoming rather uncomfortable and painful. BUt, yeah, all in all a fantastic film!

Too bad the subplot with Faramir and Eowyn at the Halls of Healing wasn't included. Ah, who am I kidding...that only would have satisfied me because I'm a sucker for that kind of crap. Um, I mean, it isn't crap--it's nice crap. Wonderful smelling crap--if it had a smell, that is.

I've only seen it once and I really don't feel the need to see it again. I had to see the previous films more than once before you were able to buy them because, I don't know, I just felt unfulfilled or something. This one satisfied me...I guess it also helps that it's the final movie in the series, too.

I don't wanna be an elf lol i wanna be Eowyn cuz...she's cool. Anyway, i saw it last Monday and it f*ckin KICKS ASS!!!! ahhh I agree with what Evan Rocks said like on the first page!!!!!! I would go see it again now if I could :D the ending did stretch out a bit, but it was worth it. I was a bit lost at the end since i didn't finish the books :P. But the reason why his finger was back was because it had been like 4 years or something... I dunno correct me if I'm wrong
EDIT: Oh yeah if Peter Jackson doesn't win an oscar..they'll be hearing from quite a few fans... <_<

They actually cut the ending short. In the book, Saruman escapes, and when they return to the shirre, has taken over there and it goes on....and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on......and on....
