For lack of a better word sucess
Means so much while really being so less
With variables and indifference in feeds
It makes me wonder just how we proceed
In spite not because of hateful congress
We scratch patterns on our lives to impress
If I did this or I did that
Then maybe they'd let me get up to bat
For lack of a better understanding
We ignore repore with a cause for slandering
Thoughts repression, lost ideals
Underneath it all we know how it feels
To have something taken away
Then suddenly faith to get down to pray
You ask, receive, repeat, and ignore
You don't cash in 'til you've lost track of the score
In personality tests wasted
On youth that can't describe what they tasted
Until someone takes it away
