I'm not reading anything at the moment just because I'm preparing myself for being forced to read two books for school--those being "Oliver Twist" and "Howard's End". Hopefully they're good. The last two books I read that were written in the 19th century sucked monkeybums. ("Jane Eyre" and "Pride & Prejudice". Woo)

East of Eden by John Steinback...very long (600 pages) and very hard to start reading. Extremely slow but I havent heard anything but amazing things about it so I'm reading it. It speeds up before long so that's what I'm waiting for.

I just recently finished the Left Behind series. I'm waiting for the authors next episode to come out this summer. It's a very good series and I would recommend it to anyone. It's about the Apocalypse. I'm very curious about that type of thing so that's why I've read those series. I'm babbling on now.

i'm on a star wars kick right now. i finished "The Courtship of Princess Leia" and "Tatooine Ghost". I'm too broke to buy the Thrawn trilogy that comes next. So i skipped alot and bought "Vector Prime" the 1st book in the New Jedi Order series. And I bet half of you have no idea what I just said, but that's okay. :) I'm a nerd, I know.

Oh and I read the Lord of the Rings books once a year and I just finished Return of the King a few weeks ago, just in time to see it on the big screen.

Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that one.

Currently, I am reading The Dead Astronaut, a compilation of various stories about space from the 1960's and '70's. I picked it up at the local coffee shop book store for $1.50. And it will also give me inspiration for an upcoming album. (Published by the Play Boy Press in 1971, and it says it features authors such as Ray Bradbury. Yeah... He didn't write anything in there.)

I'm reading a book called Knocked out by my Nugga Nuggas. lol It's really cute. It's the third of four in a little sries. It's the diary of a 14 year old girl who live in England. The first two are Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging, and On the Bright Side I'm now the Girlfriend of a Sex God, and the fourth one is Dnacing in my Nuddy Pants. They're really funny, and they aren't serious so if you just want to read like a light book I recomend them.

I have a habit of reading about 3 or 4 books all at once. At the moment, I'm re-reading Pride and Prejudice, a history book about the French Revolution called Vive La Revolution, since that's what I'm studying at the moment and I needed some background reading, and also The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas James, which I got for Christmas.

Too bad. He's my favorite author, by far. I can understand why you wouldn't like him if you're into more matter of fact storytelling like Palahnuik. King writes in a sort of lyrical overblown journalistic way, expanding and re-expanding on exposition.

I think a lot of my hatred for Catcher In The Rye is really misdirected from my dislike for Holden, which I think is really a testament to Salinger's character development if he can invoke such a strong dislike of a fictional character.
