they always make fun of avril cus they know it makes me mad :mad:
they make fun of the complicated video and say: "hey, you wanna crash the mall" then laugh uncontrollaby :mad:

well, it wouldn't bother me so much...but my friend LOVES aaliyah, and if I so much as sing a line from her song he gets mad and threatens to kill me n my otha friend if we make fun of her so why should he be able to make fun of avril if he doesn't like it wen we do it 2 aaliyah.
and don't say, like my other friend, "it's because she's dead"

I guess it would be a bit too much to ask for your friend to "grow up." I sympathize with anyone who was/is an Aaliyah fan because of the tragedy that befell her, but that doesn't mean they can hold it over others, or that those who dislike her music can't make fun of it. They're making fun of the music, not the fact that she died. I realize that in your current situation, though, you may be dealing with someone who is intractable, in which case I ask you, should he really be your friend?

And why does he want to kick your ass every time you sing a line from an Aaliyah song? Shouldn't he be glad you're interested?

As for the taunting, just let it roll off your back. It's what you listen to. Maybe you should make some more friends who like it, too.

not everyone around you is gonna like Avril, so you might have to get used to it. I know it's upsetting when someone doen't share your point of view on something that you feel strongly about but thats life.

loads of diff opinions...
and the aaliyah guy is my best friends friend, I consider him a friend but he needs 2 be more open minded. he has only heard ONE of avril's songs.
and he even admitted he liked it. he just said he HATED the video, so he doesn't like her cus of it. lame or wat...
anyway, there are more avril lovers than haters around me because I showed em the light!
