First one was just to ever get started with the process
Next was thinking that I ever had to confess
What I did wrong to you
It’s not you’re decision to choose the few
Things I can do that aren’t bad to those of you
That I want to like me
After that I stuck with it
What else could I do but pretend to understand it
Next I said the words so stupid so worthless
When we can’t get rid of the feelings that make it pointless
To get on with my de-habilitation
So then I took the fall for him
Knew it wasn’t wrong to go out onto that limb
After that I asked but that never could last
Simply taken down that road
Understand it’s what we showed
That was a step downward
Can’t count the steps that took me down this far
Don’t let them break and tear and mar
All it takes
Is twelve stupid mistakes
To get out of the pattern
To fall out of the process
To make it so we never learn
To make it so everything we confess
Is just a stupid step
Of all the things that I know I should avoid
Just in case you were wondering: My twelve mistakes
1) Trying to change yourself for others
2) Asking forgiveness for something that was never your fault
3) The words “I can’t”
4) Taking responsibility for others
5) Accepting without proving
6) Hoping without trying
7) Failing and staying down
8) Pretending to be something your not
9) Letting the past interfere with the present
10) Taking no chances
11) Judging without looking
12) Reverting back to old habits (i.e. the above 11 steps)
Once you complete this list you’re sure to do more than just fail you’ll fall, hit the bottom and wonder how the hell you got there.
