First off, I'm not sure if this is the right section in which to post this. Move it if you have to. Thanks!

My wisdom teeth are coming in in the back. They hurt bad, and my mouth is swollen. My mother says that this is early for them to come in. Just like 2 years ago, I got my braces taken off after wearing them for almost 3 years, and I don't want these wisdom teeth to mess things up and make me et braces all over again. Should I get the pulled or leave them?

Also, why do they call them "wisdom teeth?"

they call then wisdom teeth cause they come in when you arean adult kind of

If you don't get them pulled and there's not enough room in your mouth then yes, you will have f*cked up teeth and then your parents will kill you because they spent like $10 000 on your braces and all the work is ruined.

Wisdom teeth come in anywhere from like 14, 15 to... well, never. Some people never get them. Last summer my sister (21 at the time) and myself (then 18) both had ours removed. They hadn't come through yet, but we had them removed because we've both had braces and I quite like my straight teeth, thanks.

It's not even a bad procedure. Get knocked out completely... f*ck this laughing gas crap. Go for the total knock-out. It's great. You fall asleep, and wake up what feels like a split second later, but feeling drunk. Your jaw's frozen for a few hours which can make drinking and taking anti-biotics a pain in the ass. Then you get to live off jello for a few days, plus you get Tylenol 3 if it hurts. And your face might swell up, but mine didn't.

That's what they have dental insurance for.

And it's really not that painful. Besides... any excuse to take Tylenol 3 is a good one.

Heh, I was informed that I do have wisdom teeth, but they aren't showing. My dentist didn't say I HAVE to get them pulled out, but he recommended that I do. I dunno, I might one day. I've never had braces so I'm not worried about fucking up my teeth anymore than they already are. Don't grind your teeth, kids...especially your front ones.

I think I grind my teeth in my sleep. If I do, it's f*cked up my jaw. It cracks almost every time I move it. It's really damn annoying.

^ Yeah, I wake up sometimes and my jaw is all clenched, so then I relax it. Heh, mine also cracks, but only in the morning. I do my 'cracking ritual' when I wake up. It's kind of like giving my jaw a massage.

My big toe on my right foot cracks 24/7. I'll let you have that and I'll take your jaw.

I grind my teeth when I'm asleep, too.

I had a tooth pulled once before. It was an extra tooth of one of those pointy ones. It didn't really hurt, and the pain went away by the next day. I have the tooth in a jar. ;)

My whole mouth has been sore lately.

My mom says that on Friday I am going to the dentist. I can find out more information and what to do there. Most people don't like to go to the dentist, but it doesn't bother me because I get my teeth cleaned, and I like that feeling.

Okay. Because then your toe can match my big to on my left foot.

Also my left knee, which gets sore if it's bent for too long and tends to crack a lot (but that is an awesome feeling. It's like an orgasm for my knee, I swear.), my fight knee which occasionally cracks with my left if I squat too fast, and my left elbow which is very creaky.

Yeah, my joints are screwed up. Arthritis here I come!

I don't know about widom teeth. I'm only 15 so I don't think I have them yet. Does getting widom teeth pulled hurt more the getting liek baby teeth pulled? Because I've had 10 baby teeth pulled, and it doesn't really bother me anymore. That reminds me. I have to get a shot tomorrow.

I wouldn't know how much it hurt or not 'cuz if or when I get mine out, I'm going to be knocked out. I don't care if that means punching me in the head, I'm not going to be conscious.

Yeah... I don't get people who can do it with just laughing gas. Especially because I've heard you can feel the pressure of them cutting into your jaw, and you can hear it, and.... EW.

I was knocked out. But your mouth is sore for a few days after, even after it thaws out. It also bleeds a lot. I was supposed to go to a show like 3 days after but my mom wouldn't let me because standing for long periods of time caused my mouth to fill with blood. :erm:

And yes it hurts more than baby teeth. They're bigger teeth and usually with baby teeth they're just pulled from the gum and it heals. With wisdom, if they're impacted (haven't come through yet. ie, not erupted) they have to slice into your gum... and into your jaw bone.

I have wisdom teeth, they seem to fit *just* in me gob!

And i think i was late cos they came through over the last 3 years or so!!

awwww im finally an adult ^_^

Should i have them pulled?

xchEEsyx

^Well if they fit, then I don't see why you'd need them pulled! Only if they're causing problems, I'd say

Yeah mine are coming in, but the orthodontist says that I don't have to get them out just yet, only if they're causing problems. Well I saw the x-rays and they're not looking too good, so I think I'll need to get them yanked sometime this year.

I want to get knocked out, but I hear it costs about 400 dollars or something...TH'HELL?!

Personally I wouldn't be bothered if mine came in or not. But I dont know if I'd have them removed...'cause I've had a tooth out before and it kind of hurt...even though my mouth was numb.

PunkyMalone

most people get over the biting phase by the time they're about five.
