" sing me a song, Evan" said a sleepy Avril on a chli night in LA.
"not now" i'm busy replied Evan. Avril sighed. for months it had seemed like Evan wanted no part of her at all. she was not at all pleased with his actions lately. he had been ignoring her. it was obvious.
"i'll hate you forever if you don't, Evy" begged Avril

"well then...hate me forever"

"what!?, you're not serious?"

"you're right, i'm not." laughed Evan

Avril said nothing. she just stared at him.


"what? questioned Evan. "oh alright alright, i'll sing to you." he was kind of exasperated by now.

"what shall i sing, ms. lavigne?"

"you know what i want" she said.

"umm barney and friends?" joked Evan

"i dont find that funny. and i dont find you funny one bit. can't you see i'm upset?" said Avril, very irritated.

Evan was now serious. and leaned in to kiss Avril on the forehead. she then moved in for a hug, which Evan excepted with open arms.

'f*ck singing, said Avril" just hold me, okay?


"whatever you want, baby"....but.

"but what?"


"you have to promise we'll talk about whatevers bothering you, later. promise?


"yea, sure, ok, Ev.














riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. Evan's phone rang, waking him up. he and Avril had once again, fallen asleep in his bed together.

"this shit can't happen anymore." he said to himself.

riiiiiiiiiing!!

"Urr" Evan groaned.

"hello?" he answered, still half alseep

"hey, sweetie" answered his very beautiful girlfriend, Katie.

Evan's face lit up witha smle.

"hey, hun, how's it goin?"

"fine, now that i'm talking to you" she said innocently.


"really?" Evan said quite amused. "when are you coming to see me?"


"i was thinking about sometime this week, maybe friday?" "and then i could spend the weekend with you"


"sounds great, i'm looking forward to it."


"you better be,, i love you"


"love you too, baby"

Avril was pretending to be asleep, so she could listen to his conversation with that wanna be ms America, b*tch. Kathrine Jacobs. that girl use to be all Evan would talk about. now shes probly just all he thinks about Avril thought, rolling her eyes.

"i want him more than she ever has" she said to herself. why the f*ck do i have to be so stupid. i should just grab him and kiss him one day and spill my heart out to him. but that might not work coz' what if he doesn't feel the same and my heart is broken once again?" omg this is gay. why am i havin g such a hard time dealing with my emotions, thougth Avril.



""you up?" asked Evan after he finally hung up with Katie.

"i'm up" answered Avril, plainly.

"good, you hungry?"

"no." she said

"no?" "well, 'm starved, babe."

"i don't care" Avril said to him, coldly.

"what's your problem, Av": Evan wanted to know.

he was now lieing back on the bed beside Avril., he pulled her up to him so they were face to face.

" i..i miss hanging out with you. just me and you." Avril was almost in tears.

"aw, Av..we can still hang. you know i care about you, sweet heart"

"and i care about you alot more than you think i do."

"whats that supposed to mean" asked Evan witha grin on his face.

" oh, c'mon Evan, don't take it that way" shit i blew it. she thought.

"lets hang out tomorrow." he said

"ok, where do you wanna go?"

"anywhere you want. its all up to you."

"how 'bout dinner and a movie?"

"my treat" Evan winked at her. but suddenly his smile dissapeared when he realized that tomorrow was Friday and Friday meant Katie would be there....."oh shit" he said. as soon as Avril left the room. "f*ck!"

Avril sat on the couch wathnig TV. yes, she had her eyes on the television, but her mind was on Evan and what she and Evan were going to do on their date-umm time that they would share together. this day has got to be perfect. she thought. Avril had spent the day fixing hair hair and doing her make-up properly to try and impress Evan the way that Katie does. sure, Katie had more of everything than her as far as features went. but Avril had that intelectual quality that Katie lacked. and Evan liked Avril for that. the fact that she could see beyond looks and charm right into the real person. Avril sighed looking in the mirror. Evans soo great. i can't believe i let my self slip away from him for that long. we have so much to catch up on its not even funny. we havn't had a real long drawn out conversation in god knows how long. but i know one thing, i'm not about to let that happen again. She fixed her hair once mor eand decided to go to Evan's room and have a talk with him.


Evan saw Avril walk into his room and his jaw nearly dropped. she had on tight blue jeans and a very nice white see through shirt on with a black tanktop on the inside. he was looking her up and down completely unaware of his surroundings when Avril brought him back to life.

"you awake?" she said


oh, yea." he said laughing a little. " i was just -you look really nice. did you do something different with your hair?
"

"no..but i'm glad you like it" i thought i'd just get a little dressed up for dinner tonight.

Avril was a little embarssed and hung her head down because she thought she might be blushing.
she looked up again and Evan's smile had dissapeared. Avril got worried.

"is something wrong, Ev?"


Evan didn't know what to say. he had completely forgotten about telling Avril they wouldn't be able to chill that day. a million thougths were racing through his head, and for a moment he thought he could not find his voice.
how the f*ck could i have let this happen. he thought. and she got all dressed up for me and everything. i should of told her sooner. He looked up at her, looked her in the eyes and tried to speak. Avril was completely uaware of what he was about to say and she was getting quite frustrated. what could be wrong with him?


"We can't hang out tonight, Avril" Evan said, finally able to speak. he was looking at the floor. he wouldn't dare look her in the eyes.


"we-we can't?" Avril said now wondering why he would change his mind all of the sudden. Evan felt tears forming in his eyes. how could he break the news to her. how could he tell her that he couldnt hang with her tonight because he had to spend time with his girlfriend. i can't tell her. he thought. i'll have to make up something. Evan was thinking of an excuse, but Avril was growing impatient.



"Evan? why can't we go out tonight?" Avril was staring at him, not even blinking. she wanted an answer. and she wanted it now.
"well.." he started, " my friend, Matts sick and i have to go visit him at the hospital later..." he lied. Evan looked all around the the room. anywhere but at Avrils face

"why is he at the hospital in LA? doesn't he live in Baltimore?" Avril questioned.

she looked at him but he wasn't looking back at her he was just staring at the floor, admiring the tile


"Evan?"


"huh..wha?" oh yea yea..it's a different Matt. not Matt Halpern" f*ck im lieing again. he thought. He finally wa slooking up at her now. it seemed as though she believed him. Evan was relieved. "look, Avril, i'm really sorry but i have to go visit him, it'll ruin his day if i don't. and we're good friends,a nd all..so..you understand right?"


Avril was still kind of confused. how did all of this happen all of the sudden. and Evan never told her of any Matt living in LA. could he be- no Evan never has lied to her, why would he start now? Avril wouldn't let herself think he was lieing to her, and decided if Evan needed to visit a friend then he needed to visit a friend. and she would support him. after all, they could always reschedule. she gave hima half smile and looked into his eyes.


'well, if it means that much to you, i'll go with you."

Evn's eyes grew wide


"no! he shouted. "i- i mean, no..no..he can only have one visitor ata time."


Evan lied once again. god i feel like shit, he thought. i'ma f*ckin loser. there's no way i'm gonna be able to pull this shit off. to his suprise Avril ddin't argue with him
.

"well, um then..i'll just stay here and wait for you to get back and then maybe we can watch a movie and eat popcorn here

.

" um i dont think so im kind of sick. my stomachs been bothering me. no popcorn... and i think i'll skip the movie too, i'm kind tired. so im just gonna go to the hospital, come back later and go to bed, ok?"


Evans words came out more hurtful than he had expected. he found a hint of sarcasm in that sentence somewhere. and immediatley felt bad afterwards. meanwhile Avril took the hint that Evan just didn' t want to be with her at all tonight . she felt a knot in her stomach and felt as if her heart rose all the way up to her throat and choked her from speaking.


on the brink of tears she wondered why he had sounded so hurtful toward her. she stared down at her shoes not saying a word. Evan looked at her. he had hurt her feeligns he could tell. godamnit....he thought. he had to fix this somehow.


Evan got up, walked over to Avril and gave her a big hug. she didn't hug him back, but just kind of stood there, motionless. Evan felt teardrops on his shoulder which soon became damp with heap of Avril's hot tears.


"i'm sorry, baby." he whispered, holding her. she returned his hug.



" its ok" she said. go see your friend now. he needs you more than i do.


Avril's stomach was still in all sorts of knots. she couldn't help but think that Evan didn't want to hang out because he didn't like being around her anymore. but those thoughts quickly faded when she felt Evan gently placing soft kisses on the right side of her neck.


"mmm" Avril moaned jus a little. "that tickles". she laughed lightly.


"theres a smile" he said.


"she looked up at his beautiful blue eyes and wondered if those kisses were just friendly ones. however, there was adifferent light to his eyes that she had never seen before. she sensed a different atmosphere around him and got shivers up nd down her spine. why is he making me feel this way., she wondered.


"you shoudl go, now" Avril said, thinking it was best if she went out for a walk by herself, to be alone to think.


"yeah i should, i'll see you later though"


'cya" said Avril still in shock over Evan's sweet kisses.



walking to the lobby to meet Katie, Evan began talking to himself.


"i have no idea why i started kssing her like that. maybe i've just been away from Katie for too long.
yeah thats it.
" Evans face suddenly brightened as soon as he saw Katie. she ran up and gave hima huge hug. he loved the way she smelled. she was like a million roses to him.

Avril was out on her walk. the air was stiff. and she was so caught up in her thoughts before she left that she had forgotten her jacket. "i wonder if Matt's okay." maybe i should go by the hospital and check up on him, maybe introduce myself. i mean any friend of Evan's is a friend of mine....


she kept walking and saw a sign that read 'Eastside Hospital'. well, she thought. this may not be it but it's worth a try...


"can i help you, miss?" said the lady behind the counter.

"umm maybe..i'm looking for a Matt.....i'm not quite sure of is last name but he should of had one visitor check in today."


looking at her computer, the lady asked,
"what's the visitors name, mam?


"Evan, Evan Taubenfeld." Avril replied.


" the lady looked up at her. i'm sorry, young lady, but no one by that name has checked in today."


"well, are there any other hospitals around this area in LA?"


"not that i know of..the closest hospital to this one is miles away."


"oh." Avril said


without any thing else said, Avril slowly walked out of the hospital and ran all the way down the street as fast as she could. She knew exactly what was going on. Evan had lied to her. she was sure of it. for what reason, she did not know. she could be wrong. Matt could very well be staying at another hospital. but the chances were slim. she needed to find out where Evan was..in the mist iof her thoughts she saw a sign for starbucks' coffee and decided she could use a latte.



Back at his hotel room, Evan and Katie were cuddled up on the couch watching a movie. Evan wasn't thinking about the movie, or Katie. he was thinking about Avril and where she could be at this hour. He glanced at the clock. it was 11:30.....why hasn't she called?? he wondered.


Evan looked down at Katie who was sound asleep. He smiled.
looking at Katie sleeping so peacefully made him tired as well. He laid his head down and closed his eyes, not expecting to rest for that long.



Avril finally decided to return back to the hotel...she expected Evan would be home by now. it was 12:00 and she had no business being out that late. she entered the elevator.
while waiting for the door to open she was thinking. "i'll just go to Evans room, and see if he's there. i hope he is." when the bell sounded and the door opened, she walked to his room and used the spare key card Evan had gave her.

When she opened the door she froze.


there he was, asleep on the couch with Katie.
how could he do this to me, she thought. "he f*cking lied to me!" she ran out of the room so fast she nearly fell on the way out. she ran all the way to her room, slammed the door and burried her face in her pillow that lay on the bed still holding the tears she had wept the night before. ofcourse, she cried.
and boy did she ever. she cried about everything. cried about, Evan, cried about , Katie. cried about the fact that she had been so stupid to beleve his bullshit lies.


"it's not fair", she mumbled. he really doesn't know how much he means to me. i can see right through him. i know what he's thinking before he says it. i know how to make him happy. i'm just never gonna be good enough for him. i'm never gonna make him feel the way Katie does. i'm not gonna be able to satisfy him because i dont know how. i really dont. as much as i try i just can't seem to get him to notice me anymore. we used to be so close. close enough that i could hear his heartbeat. Evan used to tell me everything.


All these thoughts were racing through her head. she wasn't sure how to approach this situation. should she yell at Evan about this and start a huge fight between them, or give him the silent treatment? or should she handle this as an adult and forget playing those highschool games? that seemed like the best solution. so thats exactly what she was going to do.




Avril opened her eyes. it was so dark it seemed as if it were still night. but it was 10 in the morning. it was pouring rain outside. the clouds were dark, and overall, it was a very depressing day, considering the circumstances.


the sad and lonely girl lifted her acheing head up. Avril realized she hadn't eaten a thing yesterday and was very hungry. but what was the point of eating when even with a stomach full of food, you wouldn't be the least bit satisfied. she shook her head, no food for me.. not right now. she thought.


"riiiiiiiiiing!!" the phone rang.


"oh gee i wonder who that is" Avril said sarcastically.. knowing it would be Evan. She was in no mood to talk to him but decided to answer the phone anywayz.


"what do you want?" she said coldly.


"are you okay?" he asked.

he knew he had hurt her bad. he knew she knew that Katie was there. she dropped her key next to his door last night.



" i'm fine. i don't need you. so go ahead and try and hurt my feelings all you want. I've been burned in the past by so many guys before..and now you...now you've screwed me over too. but that's ok because it doesn't even hurt anymore...it just feels numb."

Avril felt tears stinging her eyes.

with that she hung up. she didn't want to hear anymore of what he had to say. she fell back on the bed and shut her eyes.



Evan was worried about Avril and left Katie to go check up on her.


"i'll be right back." he siad to her.


"ok, hurry up though. you know i can't stand to be without you."


"yea, i know"


i'm getting sick of her, he thought.


he slowly made his way to her room and saw that the door was open. it looked as though she was asleep so he went over to her bed and whispered her name.


"Avril?" he said.


she did not answer. Evan sat down next to her. He saw a single teardrop fall from her eye and fall onto the pillow..Evan looked at the pillow where he saw millions of other teardrops like it's kind that he never before knew existed.

alright. heres the last chapter for a couple of days. i kinda had to rush this one because i have to pack and shit. sorry, hope you guys aren't too dissapointed.












the weekend went by so fast that before anyone knew it, Sunday was here and it was time for Katie to go home. Avril had been avoiding Evan all of Saturday and Sunday morning.



"i'm really gonna miss you, Evan." said Katie, sad to see him leave.


"you, know it's funny. it seems like you put on some kind of an act. like you're really happy to see me but at the same time you don't really mean it."


" what do you mean?" she asked. giving her puppy eyes.


" that!" he exclaimed. "that's exactly what i'm talking about."



"i should leave now. i didn't get much sleep last night. i'll be around in this area for a while though, incase you wanna talk." she said, tryign to change the subject.


" yeah, ok. cya later" he said


"ok, later."



"oh, and Katie?"



"yea?"


"don't come back. unless i for some reason need you to."


"your an assh*le. i'm out".

with nothing else said, she slammed the door. Evan figured he wouldn't be seeing her for a while.


"'guess it's over" Evan thought, somewhat relieved.
i thought i really liked her but i guess there's just someone i want more. and i just have to get her back before it's too late.







As soon as Evan got up enough courage to go and talk to Avril..he walked right on down to her room and gave a quiet knock. Avril heard it the first time. but waited until the second knock to answer the door. she knew it was Evan but she didn't wanna make it look like she was desperate to talk to him, even though by now, she was.



She ansswered the door and waited for him to speak.



"can i come in" he asked, pretty sure he would be shut out.



"yes, you can." Avril said looking at the ground.


She moved out of his way and let him walk in, where he took a seat on her bed and motioned for her to sit down next to him.



"obviously, we need to talk." he said.
Avril griped the blanket that was lieing on the bed. she was very nervous and was gritting her teeth and biting her toungue for fear of saying something she didn't mean.

"why did you lie to me" she said, looking him straight in the eyes, for a change. she wanted to know why.
she didn't deserve to be lied to.


"okay here me out" he said.

Avril rolled her eyes and forced herself to listen.


" before we had that talk Thursday night, i had promised Katie i would spend the weekend with her. since she would be in town.....


"go on" she said


"yeah..and then me and you got to talking and i totally forgot about her. you make me forget everything when i'm talking to you. and you make me feel like a million bucks. and thats why i'm here right now. i'm so sorry i hurt you and your feelings. i know how much i care about you. and i f*cked things up. i also know how much you care about me. and i think that if two people who love eachother as much as we do can hurt one another so much, so easily. then i wanna make you happy every second, every day, and every hour of my life, so that you never get hurt again. and thats a promise.


Evan was scared. he wanted Avril's forgiveness and trust back. and he hoped what he had just said would get through to her.


"i love you, Avril" he said, tears in his eyes.


"and i don't even have anything else to say. i'm just really sorry, i mean it, from the bottom of my heart."


he then studdied the ground. not wanting to look at her.


He looked at Avril to see any kind of expression on her face. and there was. she was smileing. she couldn't resist Evan's sensitivity. it gave her butterflys in her stomach.


" Oh, Evan, i love you too." she said.


" just don't ever lie to me again." she playfully hit him on the shoulder and made him promise to always be honest with her. from here on out.


' i promise" he said.







the rest of the day went great. Avrl and Evan went out for dinner that night. and she made Evan pay in order to get revenge for what he did to her.


"so, i broke up with her." he said


Avril's eyebrows raised. "oh, really?" she said.


" and why should i care," she joked.


but Evan was stilll serious. he took a sip of water and continued.


'well, i was thinkng..if maybe you would be interested in going out with me sometime."



Avril didn't know what to say. she had been waiting for this moment forever. and despite all that Evan had put her through. she loved him. and he finally, loved her back. just say yes!! she screamed in her head.


"yes!" she said. she was very excited and it was noticable.



Evan gave her a suprised look, and she blushed.



"great...how bout tomorrow?"


"oh, ya know what, she said" i kinda have to go visit a freind in the hospital...you know how it is. maybe we can-


" alright! enough. he yelled. hahaha"



"just kidding." Avril smiled and blew him a kiss"


he reached over and held hands with her across the table...."i'm lucky, you know that."



"you have no idea. she said.

hey guys, i just got back. and i must say, i wasn't planning on staying for 8 days. it was without a doubt the worst week of my life. NEVER go to Ohio it is so boring. my grandpa is in a nursing home now since my b*tch ass step grandma is mean to him. and she doesnt treat him rght. so its "safer" for him in the nursing home. but anywyas its like 3 in the morning and i m reall tired. so i'll write more soon. thank you sooo much for reading. ya'll rock.

okay, FINALLY, after almost 2 weeks in hellsville, ohio. (lol) i'm able to put up the next chapter.i hope i'm improving with my writeing. i thought this shit would be easy but i guess it takes time.lol anyways here ya go. enjoy









After dinner Avril and Evan decided to go back to the hotel. On the way home in the car Avril could not stop thinking about Evan and how nice he had made the evening. She wanted Evan to know that she had wanted more than a friendship from him since the day she saw him at the auditon for her band. he was so perfect for her. blonde hair, blue eyes, an attractive body, and that a million dollar smile that she adored so very much. Avril saw Evan smooth a strand of hair that was falling in front of his eyes. she wished he would keep it there. it made him more sexy. Another peice fell. this time, Avril moved it out of the wayand began stroking his face with the back of her hand. Evan bit his lip and smiled at her. somehow her soft hands softly carresing his cheek was turning him on....slowly, but it was working. Evan returned his thoughts from out of the gutter and wondered if he should be thinking about her that way. he wonered if she was feeling the same as he was. but tehn alittle lightbulb went off inside his head and he then knew that if she only wanted a friendship from him then she would have declined his offer to take her out on a date the next day. so that settled it. he would feel comfortable thinking about her in that way if the feeling was mutual. which, it was.



Evan was so lost in his thoughts that by the time he had looked over at Avril she had stopped stroking his face and the car stopped in front of the hotel. Evan grinned. "i really wish she would stop by my room. i'm not tired i wanna make out with her" Avril got out of the car and Evan did the same. Av swung her hair back and looked at Evan as soon as they had got inside the hotel lobby. "i love the way you do that with your hair", he said. Avril gave hima smile and hung her head down. she was justa little bit embarrased that Evan was starting to flirt with her for a change. she looked up at him "i love the way the sexy locks of your hair fall in front of your eyes." Evan was now literally turned on. he laughed
"i hate that!"

"i love that!" she shot back at him. Evan got closer to her and set his hands on
her waist.


" oh yea...well i love the way you tickle my face with your soft hands. it turns me on"


"oh, and what else turns you on Mr. Taubenfeld.?" Avril said while wrapping her arms around his shoulders. Evan leaned in to kiss her, when she placed a finger to his lips. Evan looked at her confused.


" do you really think we should kiss before the first date?" she asked mischeiveously

Evan rolled his eyes and smirked at her. "come here damnit" she let ouy a little giggle and befor eshe knew it Evan was kissing her passionately on the lips. the softest and cleanest kiss she had ever recieved, and she loved and savored every second of it. Evan shifted his hands so that they were under her shirt, and to his suprise she did not stop him..but..Evan noticed teh hotel users and people staring at them. He cleared hsi throat. "come on baby, lets take this somewhere else" Savril looked at him, giving hima lost stare, as she so desperately wnated more of his tender kisses.
