What if I told you that it didn’t matter
I realize now it never did
What if I told you that it won’t ever matter
No matter how much you try
Would I be broken dispirited down
That old gold is just disguised paint
Nothing new just the lies you come to learn
When will I see tomorrow
I’ve heard about so many times
But it never really seems to come
Not really
Don’t ask me about it
Why would I know
I’m just as clueless as everyone else
Nobody’s got the answers
They just got that old gold
You know it’s just paint
But sometimes that doesn’t matter anyway
I realize now it never did
What if I told you that it won’t ever matter
No matter how much you try
Would I be broken dispirited down
That old gold is just disguised paint
Nothing new just the lies you come to learn
When will I see tomorrow
I’ve heard about so many times
But it never really seems to come
Not really
Don’t ask me about it
Why would I know
I’m just as clueless as everyone else
Nobody’s got the answers
They just got that old gold
You know it’s just paint
But sometimes that doesn’t matter anyway
