Since there are so many exciting new features on these boards, I've decided to take one of them each day and explain how to use it :)
- Ignore Feature -
Are you tired of reading the posts of some user? Does someone really bother you around here? Well you dont have to worry about it anymore with this new Ignore feature.
When enabled, you will be able to skip over that person's posts. Instead of the post you'll see a little notice that tells you "This user has posted, but is on your ignore list" followed by a link. If you really want to read the post, you can click the link, otherwise the post will simply not display and you will ignore this user :)
To ignore someone, simply click on their name anywhere around the boards to access their profiles. On the top of their profile there are links to Add this user as a buddy, or Add this user to ignore list. It's simple, and just one click away.
To manage your lists, you will have to go to your User CP and look under Miscellaneous for Buddy / Ignore Lists. From here you'll see the list of people that you consider "buddies" and those you wish to ignore. To take someone out of those lists, simply delete their names from the boxes.
- Buddy Feature -
Buddies are also accessible through any page by clicking Quick Links and then selecting Buddy List. This is a very convenient way to see which of your buddies are online, or to PM them in one click.
This conclude the tutorial for the buddy / ignore feature of the boards.. go ahead, try it out for yourself! (Sorry, I know this will disapoint a few, but you cannot ignore an Administrator ;))
