AND HOLY MOLY, IT WAS EXCELLENT.
Performances by: The Kick, and they gave an amazing accoustic performace. The was due to van difficulties, so their drummer couldn't perform last night. But it was awesome, regardless.
MewithoutYou (they could be categorized as Indie / Post Hardcore / Rock)...first time seeing/hearing them, and they really impressed me. You couldn't hear the singer too well, but the music itself was just so amazing, I could listen to it without a singer anyday, he has a very unique style, from what I could hear.
The headliners were Blindside, from Sweden. I was in awe of how well Christian, the lead singer, could SING. My friend Cam described it quite well... " He has a fucking CRAZY vocal range." I love them and all...but Shannon mentioned that some of their songs sounded the same, and yeah...I kind of agree. Just their newer stuff is like that in a way. They played really old stuff from like...1997, sounded awesome, I need to get some of it.
All in all, I was very satisfied with the show. Probably would have been more fun if I wasn't so tired...but yeah. I must say, Christian of Blindside is ridiculously good looking, so that made their set even more enjoyable. (I swear, I didn't go just for his looks, I'm not that lame.)
If they ever swing by your area, I suggest you check these bands out.
Highlights of the night:
This really overweight guy was going nuts in the pit, it was awesome haha he could really rock out when he wanted to. He looked funny amongst all the skinny guys.
Christian having to tell the crowd sufers to lay off a bit, because they kept knocking things over on the stage.
The uh...rather religious shirts, indicating that there were definitely some youth groups there or something. Examples "God's greatest gift is LIFE" and "I mosh for Jesus" (couldn't figure out if the Jesus one was a joke or not..)
On the way home on Skytrain (an above ground subway) a 40 year old guy asks my sister if Lime Coke would taste funny with rum in it, and proceeds to talk about how bad of a kid he was. Okay, buddy.
Rating: 4/5
