Can you define stupidity?
Sounds like a simple question, but can you answer it. When you say somthing or someone is stupid, dumb, a moron, an idiot and so on what do you actually mean, and is the context in which we use these words right?. Sure you can look in a dictionary and find the definition of stupid, but is what it says really right.
Can you define stupidity without taking a peak at the dictionary or the web to give you key ideas of what it is?, afterall if you think your not stupid, surely you wouldnt need to use resources to define a term we all use so much.

Stupidity to me is not using your brain or not being mature as others.

...I'm pretty sure it means not intelligent.
For example, this thread is stupid. It deserves to be locked.

Kyle you've outlined a act of stupidity here, a classic example as well but it is'nt defining stupidity. As for the being mature than others, thats no exactly right. Bush is a very mature person I'd say, but that dosnt mean he hasnt made a stupid act.
Snagger, why is this stupid? who says this is stupid, what do you mean by stupid.
Eric, a good example, but when we say somone is stupid, or someone made a stupid mistake does that mean they are non intelligent .

stupid is stupid. Good enough? Ok. Maybe not.
Hummmph. Stupidity. The word is so over used I guess it has lost all meaning. It's all about intelligence. One who makes a comment without putting serious thought into what they say, before they say it. *shrugs*

Yeah but in today's world, stupid is usually inferred to your actions, not intelligence. When somebody is stupid in intelligence, people are like "you're so retarded".

Yes. Actions too. I can't be assed to type. Do I have to type out a fuck load to give a meaning of stupidity?

Why should this be locked? So called stupidity is the worlds most serious problem, thus a topic I deem worthy for discussion. I believe theres more to stupidity than most people think. From this topic I see people say this discussion is stupid, but why? just because its a discussion about stupidity dosnt mean it is stupid and not worth discussion. If your not interested in this serious topic then by all means dont feel you need to reply from hereafter.

It's stupid because it's not a discussion about stupidity. It's a discussion about the definition of stupidity. And even a legitimate discussion on ways of getting rid of this problem is not valid, as was proven in the thread Keanan and I were discussing in. It was locked. This should be too.

You've outdone yourself this time, Johno. I think it's pretty apparent that stupid means a lack of intelligence (That can be applied to specific actions as well). Okay, question answered. Now shut up and somebody lock this thread.
