Avril Lavigne to Headline 2006 Volvo for life Awards gala event

Avril is the headline this year’s National Hero Celebration award ceremony which is to be held on 12th April 2006. The ceremony will be held at the Rainbow Room in New York City.

Lavigne had contacted Volvo the sponsor of the event to volunteer her services. Volvo in responce said “Headline the 2006 Volvo for life Awards ceremony!”. She will play a selection of songs from her latest album Under My Skin and also a selection of her favourite tracks from her debut album, Let Go.

The event which Volvo holds each year asks individuals nationwide to nominate a local hero they know. They then go before celebrity judges and an overall winner will be decided upon.
